At 1,717 meters above sea level, Mount Batur is an active volcano situated in northeastern Bali, providing stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside and Lake Batur caldera.

Our Mount Batur trekking package includes transportation from your hotel in the Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud or Sanur areas, so you can sit back and relax as we handle the logistics. We depart very early in the morning, around 1 AM, to begin the 1-2 hour drive to Mount Batur village, where we’ll enjoy a light breakfast before commencing our guided hike up the volcanic gravel trails to the peak.

Arriving in the darkness before dawn, we’ll embark on the first leg of our journey in comfortable 4×4 jeeps to tackle the steep climb halfway up the mountain. Witness breathtaking views of Lake Batur and the surrounding lush countryside emerge as the sun starts to peek over the horizon. Stopping around midway to stretch our legs, we’ll continue the ascension on foot, hiking the last segment over hardened lava flows to reach the caldera rim just in time to watch a spectacular sunrise unfold over the entire region.

After soaking up the sweeping 360° views from the peak and capturing plenty of Instagram-worthy shots, we’ll return back down the same trails on foot, through fertile farmland and picturesque Balinese villages nestled along the mountain’s slopes. Our experienced guides will ensure you safely navigate the varied volcanic terrain while sharing stories about the area’s unique cultures and treasured traditions.
